HARWICH and Dovercourt Rugby Club ended their year on a glorious high – by continuing their purple patch with another emphatic victory.
The Low Road side thumped Thorpeness 95-0 in their latest Eastern Counties League division two south outing, on Saturday afternoon.
It leaves them second in the table heading into the festive hiatus.
And coach Shane Manning praised his side for their total dominance throughout the 80 minutes.
“For the first time this season, we completely dominated a game,” he said.
“What really pleased me was the fact we were so strong in the second half.
“That hasn’t always been the case this season.
“In the first half we scored points but they were down to individuals rather than the team.
“We needed to get back to the structure that has helped us all season and start playing as a unit.
“Thankfully, that was the case in the second half and we played with more attacking discipline and structure, which was pleasing.
“To score 95 points and 15 tries was brilliant, but, as a coach, I’m just as happy that we didn’t let Thorpeness score any.”
