LITTLE Oakley FC has joined a popular weekly quiz competition to raise funds.

The Acorns are now members of the Essex Senior League and have now partnered with 1000GBP.com – a fundraising platform for non-league football clubs where weekly quiz winnings are split between lucky players and the club.

The weekly quiz will involve football trivia with question categories including ‘Premier League’, ‘FA Cup’, ‘League Cup’ and ‘the England team and players’.

If a player selects a correct answer in each category they will be awarded points which will be converted into entries for a prize draw that will close at midnight and from that 50 prize winners are drawn. 

Zac Wagman, deputy managing director of 1000GBP.com, said: "We are delighted that Little Oakley FC has joined The Ultimate Football Quiz on 1000GBP.com.

"So far, in just a few months, we have raised over £25,000 for non-league clubs, and we want to grow our 1000GBP.com family as wide as possible to empower and build up as many local clubs and local communities as possible."

As well as the £1,000 prizes, there are other prizes each week and you can follow your weekly progress on an online leaderboard.

The community quiz platform has launched in England but will be expanding soon to Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
