A NEW children's swimming school has been set up by a holiday park, with 150 youngsters already signing up.
Dovercourt Holiday Park, on Low Road, started the new swimming school after hearing about “big waiting lists” at other pools.
Luke Holland, 29, the leisure and swimming manager at Dovercourt Holiday Park, set up the school.
He said: “Other pools in the area have a big waiting list, and we have a massive pool here, so why don’t we do our own?
“We got a lot of interest straight away - 200 sign-ups in a couple of weeks, and then we released the sign-up form in June, with 150 signing up”.
Mr Holland said the swimming school will now start on September 9 – the first full week after the summer holidays.
During term time, the school will be open from Monday to Thursday starting each day with two 30-minute ‘private’ one-to-one lessons from 4pm to 5pm.
From 5pm to 7pm there will be four 30-minute group lessons.
